Who and what’s the story behind ‘Robin Paris’ ?
Jewellery has always made me dream. I love stones and pearls, their depth, their colour, the journeys they tell and sing on the skin. I also like precious metals which, thanks to the meticulous work of goldsmith, evoke places, times and emotions. As a hyperrealist illustrator I have been educated at the Estienne school and then at the goblins. I was a graphic designer for twenty years, and I finally decided to go from dream to reality by obtaining a certificate of professional competence in jewellery at Boulle school. From the beginning, I looked for ways to match my desires and principles. Convinced that we must give an ethical sense to our way of buying, our jewellery is made as much as possible with fairmined metal. Gold is produced by artisanal mines with decent wages and working conditions, without any children working there. In addition, nature is saved because the waste is reprocessed. Each piece is made in France, in Paris, in our workshop. Thus, the process of the jewel is transparent, making it unique. What I wanted is to create art crafts accessible to everyone.

What are your ideals ? Your inspiration ?
Our ideal is to design fair, contemporary and graphic jewels. Japan, its cherry blossoms, its zen and graphic architecture and the art of origami are sources of inspiration, just like nature or certain symbols of history. Each piece starts with a drawing. Creations are then designed and manufactured in small series or unique pieces in France. They are made from precious stones and metals and respect people and the environment. Obviously, this changes from standard offers. Everyone can customize their jewellery and it takes time. We are thus moving consumption habits, introducing patience and reflection. Our transparency on the origin of the materials and the know-how of the workshop which is open to visitors, transform the purchase of a jewel in an experience which reminds us of its special character.
Jewels are like stories. My story, but also those of others. To give jewels life, I create custom gouaches for tailor-made pieces. We meet and exchange to understand and to decipher the desire for the jewel. This exchange will become a unique and intense moment from which will be born a unique jewel.

Where do you see your brand in 10 years ?
The ideal? To continue mixing fair and joy of creating. We will ensure that the history of our materials continues to be transparent to remind the wearers of our jewellery that anyone can act at his or her own level. We dream that our workshop will grow while keeping its handmade character, to keep in the heart of our activity the craftwork and the know-how that will make each jewel a concentrate of history.
In order to insure continuity in our work, we would like to welcome jewellery students so that the tradition of sharing knowledge, which is fruit and seed of creativity, continues, and so that they adopt the ethical approach that drives us.
